Volkswagen is celebrating of a decade Amarok South Africa by upping the V6 model’s output to 190kW
The 3-litre V6 TDI gains 25kW and 30Nm torque to deliver those 190kW from 3 000 to 4 500 rpm and 580 Nm from 1 400 to 2 750 rpm. But that’s not all — an over boost function allows the turbodiesel to deliver 200kW for 10 seconds at full throttle.
Packing a standard eight-speed automatic with all-wheel drive, Amarok V6 now rushes to 100km/h in just 7.6 seconds and on to a 207km/h top end and sips an average of 9.5 litres of diesel per 100 kilometres.
Available in Highline or top-of-the-range Extreme spec, the V6 joins the 2.0 TDI 103kW, and 2.0 BiTDI 132kW on the range.
