MA-DE TO DREAM – A FIAT 126 EV

Como concept proposes a retro-modern Fiat 126 EV

Hands up who remembers the Fiat 126? Italian design company MA-DE has conceived this 126 EV Concept as a cool new small electric car proposal.

THE FIAT 126 EV IS JUST A DREAM. BUT WHAT DO YOU THINK?

A modern interpretation of the evergreen Fiat 126, which was built as a 500 replacement all the way from 1972 to 2000, MA-DE from Como, proposes the new EV version should retain the original’s squared-off headlamps, flat bonnet, steep windscreen and squared passenger cell. But the concept has electric drive, a longer wheelbase with shorter overhangs and larger modern wheels and tyres.

MA-DE leaves the interior and technical spec to our imagination. But let’s join the dots anyway. A 126 EV would supposedly adapt the new 500e electric drivetrain, so it would have a theoretical 200km range and plausible sub-10 second 0-100 acceleration. And it’s all intended a a huge hint to the Turin HQ a couple of hundred kilometres to the west. Seems like a cool idea, Fiat…
