QUICK NEWS: VW don takes Tesla boss for a spin in his electric car
Tesla boss Elon Musk made a detour to take a spin in Volkswagen new ID.3 at the Berlin airport, chaperoned by VW boss Herbert Diess last week. Musk was in town to visit his new German Gigafactory at Brandenburg when his Space X Gulfstream was intercepted by a VW posse at Braunschweig Airport.
Musk was invited to an impromptu meeting with Diess, a fan of the SA-born electric car maker who has turned the automobile world in its head. Diess offerd Musk a spin in a grey ID.3. and the two tootled off an a jaunt arond the airfield.
Musk complained about the VW’s lack of punch, while Diess pointed out that his car’s assistance system for instance offers traffic sign recognition that Tesla does not. Diess then showed Musk a still camouflaged VW ID.4 due to rival Tesla’s Model Y, the two men swapped a few more notes and then Musk continued on his way…
