REVEALED – Special Audi R8 Green Hell edition celebrates Nürburgring 24 success

With the 50th birthday Nürburgring 24-hour happening this weekend (follow it live here on the Auto Race Centre), Audi is celebrating its five overall victories since 2012 with this Green Hell special. Only 50 units will be made and sold at 233 949 euros and 59 cents, precisely.

Based on the Audi’s quickest and most powerful ever car, the 465kW R8 V10 Performance Quattro, the Green Hell coupe keeps that car’s seven-speed S-Tronic, 3.1 second zero-to hundred acceleration and 331 click top end.

ONLY 50 GREEN HELL AUDIS WILL BE MADE

Available in any colour as long as that is tioman green, daytona gray or mythos black. Green Hell’s red detailing spreads to its double-spoke 20-inch alloys. They will also spray yours white if you really ask nicely. The bonnet, A-pillars and roof are partially ‘racing’ matt black foiled. Each car’s edition number emblazoned in matt-transparent numbers.

A pair of front small diffusers deflect air through the wheel arches to also cool the brakes. NACA ducts ahead of the rear axle help cool the engine and gearbox. A wider rear diffuser increases downforce. Green Hell also gets CFRP-reinforced ceramic brakes.

Step inside and settle into lightweight Alcantara paneled bucket seats, which leather spreads to the steering wheel with a racing 12 ‘o clock aligner.. Noe let’s see if the race cars can deliver a sixth 24 win in nine years over the weekend.
