SCOOP – next Porsche GT3 RS looks madder than ever
This is Porsche’s next-generation 2021 GT3 RS punishing the Nürburgring. Still camouflaged, test mules are now sporting a wild aero kit as testing continues apace.
The biggest giveaway is that monster rear wing, but look closely. You will notice a few other cool touches too. Like a more aggressive splitter up front and a giant diffuser that extends over almost the entire width of the car.
Add double horizontal guide vanes located by gooseneck strap and those twin tailpipes popping out the back. The front is also more aerodynamically optimised the bonnet has two large air vents, which like the rear wing, do not yet correspond to the series design.
GT3 RS will get a 410 kW atmo boxer six
More important is what’s going on under the skin. The 4 litre naturally aspirated boxer six is expected to muster 410kW to the rear wheels. That’s 20kW up on the current car. Via a 7-speed PDK dual clutch ‘box specially tuned for the GT3 RS.
Zero to 100 km/h should challenge the 3-second barrier. The RS will get competition aluminium brake callipers but a ceramic composite Brake set-up wioo be optional with yellow brake callipers.
Also optional is a roll cage to go with a sports steering wheel with a centre mark. The RS-specific digital cockpit will be trimmed in Alcantara and carbonfibre. Expect RS in 2021, but only after the 375kW-plus GT3 and at a premium over the outgoing car.
