Ford’s popular Ecosport is set to become even more SUV-like
Hot on the heels of its lifted and loaded new Figo freestyle, leaked images of Ford’s forthcoming Ecosport facelift reveal a few styling enhancements. And a more robust new lifted version too. Set to be officially revealed next month, the new one allegedly addresses concerns that the existing car’s look doesn’t quite fill its SUV intent.
A more robust Ford Ecosport alternative
The new model will benefit more robust styling across the board. The lifted Ford Ecosport Active however not only brings a taller ride height, but certain markets get an all-wheel drive option too. Powered by a 95kW version of Ford’s award-winning turbocharged 999cc triple, Active gets a six-speed manual ‘box.
The new Ford Ecosport Active equipment line also adds new protective body paneling along with a blackened roof and power mirror caps. The cabin remains largely unchanged bar a new chrome passenger-side grab handles. The seats have an embroidered A. For Active, perhaps? The robust new Active is set to join to the sporty ST-Line and comfy Titanium equipment lines in the Ecosport range.
