PUTTY FOR PORTRFINO

QUICK NEWS – many updates for the poor man’s Ferrari

Ferrari has given its entry-level Portofino a comprehensive shake-up and added an M behind its name. Said to deliver a little more of everything, M is for modificata. Upgrades include a 15 kilowatt hike to 462kW for the 3.9 litre biturbo V8 thanks to revised camshafts. A louder exhaust helps you tell everyone what you’re driving.

M also adds an eighth cog to the previous 7-speed double clutch gearbox in a 20% smaller device. The new Portofino’s Manettino can now select five driving modes including a dynamic Race option. And if you look hard enough you will notice a few styling tweaks to the coupe-convertible too…

3.45 seconds 0-100, 320km/h

The front bumper and grille and rear diffuser are apparently more aggro and there are new side vents and fresh 20-inch wheels. Add a new ADAS system (Ferrari slang for assistance) and ventilated and heated seats. Prices remain secret but Portofino M comes with 3.45 second 0-100km/h and ‘over 320km/h top end claims.
