REVEALED – all-new BMW M3 and M4 in the flesh
Here’s an Auto leak for you! These works images of the BMW’s M3 and M4 are the first anyone has seen of the cars in the flesh.
While we wait for the official BMW line, our spies in Germany tell us that the forthcoming twins ‘will do everything better’. Both will get a traditional rear-drive 360kW 600Nm S58 biturbo 3-litre straight six with a six-speed manual.
But that’s not all. Also expect a 380kW Competition version with an eight-speed autobox. And the option of M xDrive AWD already in use in the BMW M5, for the first time in the 3-series based M car. The system will deselect the front axle for pure rear drive at the touch of a button.
There’s a M3 station wagon coming too…
All wheel drive won’t be the only M3 novelty though – M has already confirmed that there’s a station wagon Touring version coming too.
Watch this space for more on the sedan and coupé meanwhile and the Toring and a ragtop convertible (not a coupe convertible this time) soon…
Expect M3 and M4 and their Competition kin in SA latest early in the new year…
