X-Rider Limited Edition engineered to last a lifetime. But you’d better be quick!

So, you’re looking for a good, quality bakkie that’s engineered to last a lifetime? Well, we have one for you. But you’d better be quick — Isuzu promises that its new X-Rider Limited represents the pinnacle of continuous D-Max development and quality. But it will only be building 210 individually numbered versions for sale over the coming weeks until sold out.

A LONG TIME ISUZU FAVOURITE

X-Rider is a long time Isuzu favourite, but now this short run of three sporty Limited Edition versions of the ever popular 6th generation D-Max bakkie are now available. Only 210 individually numbered Limited Edition bakkies will be built, each with its own unique numbered plaque in the engine bay. Other plusses include a load box roller-shutter, sports hoop and exclusive tailgate branding at the back. Plus blacked out 18-inch alloys, black roof rails and a branded carpet set inside.

But that’s just part of the deal. Being late in its lifecycle, Isuzu has perfected this bakkie to a fine point. Built at Isuzu’s Struandale, Gqeberha plant, the proudly South African X-Rider Limited Edition benefits 8 years of continuous local improvements made to the 6th generation D-Max. “This X-Rider Limited Edition is by far the most robust and best-built example of the D-MAX to date,” long time Isuzu expert, Technical boss Dominic Rimmer pointed out. “It will last a lifetime.”

“We continually study feedback and data from the field throughout the lifecycle of our vehicles and we continue to make improvements to our manufacturing processes and maximise build quality,” Rimmer added. First introduced in 2016 as a special value model to the D-MAX range, the X-Rider proved popular enough with bakkie buyers to become a permanent fixture of the Isuzu model line-up. Now this new Limited Edition brings even more exclusive appeal.

A LIMITED CELEBRATION OF D-MAX SUCCESS

“When we first introduced X-Rider as a special model to the range, it proved a hit.” Isuzu Sales and Marketing guru Craig Uren offered. “So we decided to make it a permanent part of the D-Max model range,” “This bakkie is a celebration of our sixth Generation D-Max successes. “It offers the best D-Max bakkie value, build quality and appeal yet. “It is perfect for the proud Isuzu fan to own and keep as part of their garage.”

X-Rider Limited Edition comes the choice of three variants based on existing X-Rider models. The 100 kW 320 Nm 2.5 High Output turbodiesel X-Rider LTD 4×2 comes with a 5 speed manual or automatic. And the 130 kW 380 Nm 3-litre turbodiesel X-Rider LTD 4×2 comes with a 6 speed automatic. The 2.5 manual sips 7.7 l/100 km and emits 203 g/km CO2. The 3-litre is rated at 7.5 l/100 km and 198 g/km.

X-Rider Limited Editions are purpose built as bakkies to work as bakkies in the first place. The new 2.5s come with a class leading 1,025 kg load capacity and can very handily tow a 2,100 kg trailer. The 3-litre X-Rider Limited Edition totes a best in bakkies 3,500 kg trailer. And carries a load of up to 1,048 kg. Also, compared to some rivals carrying similar specification, these Isuzu X-Rider Limited Editions represent a major bakkie bargain.

ALL THE BACKING. AND EXCLUSIVITY TOO

All Isuzu D-Max bakkies come standard with an Isuzu Complete Care five year unlimited mileage anti-corrosion warranty and a five year 90,000 km service plan at 15,000 km or 12 month intervals. Optional Extended Roadside Assistance, Service and Maintenance Plans are also available through Isuzu mobility.

The new X-Rider Limited Edition range is available at your local Isuzu dealership now. Better be quick though — these are likely to sell like hot cakes!
