The Auto Race Centre 7-8 November powered by Toyota Gazoo Racing was little quieter this weekend, but definitely a case of quality, more than quantity.
MOTOGP: BINDERS STAR IN SPAIN
Top billing belongs to MotoGP, where Brad Binder delivered a splendid ride to seventh. Brad came from 16th after serving his long lap penalty from the previous race as he set the pace toward the end. Joan Mir took his maiden MotoGP win and his first race in four years to all but clinch a sensational 2020 world championship.
Younger Binder brother Binder came home a fighting fifth after a largely lonely, if otherwise dramatic Moto3 race.
DTM: ABERDEIN FIFth HOCKENHEIM 2 GRID
South African DTM star Jonathan Aberdein remained best of the BMWs as he came hoe seventh in Sunday’s championship and era-ending Hockenheim DTM race. Sheldon van der Linde finished ninth to secure sixth in the championship. Audi driver Rene Rast dominated to take the final DTM Super GT era race and wrap up the 2020 title
Aberdein was best of the BMWs in fifth in Saturday’s penultimate race and van der Linde tenth. Nico Müller held championship leader Rene Rast off in a Saturday Audi 1-2-3 ahead of Jamie Green to keeps the title alive into the finale.
ADAC GT: TOUGH DAY AT THE OFFICE
Two more South Africans raced in Germany this weekend. Kelvin van der Linde had a tough weekend when he bowed out of the ADAC GT Masters title fight in a startline crash at the Oscherslieben final. Bentley Boy Jordan Pepper and his German teammate Constantin Schöll home 17th.
Philip Ellis and Raffaelle Marciello won Sunday’s finale in a Mercedes-AMG GT. Michael Ammermüller and Christian Engelhart’s Porsche 911 came home fourth to wrap up the 2020 championship. Van der Linde and Swiss teammate Patric Niederhauser’s Audi fought home sixth in Saturday’s penultimate round. Pepper and Schöll fought home 24th on Saturday.
zwARTKOPS: A BUSY DAY IN PRETORIA
Zwartkops Raceway delivered a busy and exciting day of regional and national Extreme Festival racing on Saturday. Race 1 winner Nicholas van Weely won in Investchem Formula 1600. Andrew Rackstraw bounced back to win in race 2. Winning both GTC SupaCup races was not enough for Jeffrey Kruger to steal the championship from Bradley Liebenberg, who was second each time. Mackie Adlem’s Jaguar won race 2 to take the Mobil 1 V8 day after Franco Matteo’s Jaguar won race 1.
Franco Scribante’s Porsche won Extreme Supercars from Charl Arangies’ Ferrari. Rory Atkinson took both Pozidrive VW Challenge wins, Stuart Mack and Leyton Fourie shared Class B wins and Andy Gossman won Class C. Jonathan du Toit’s Honda won Superhatch as brother Mark’s BMW Z4 and Stefan Snyders’ Porsche shared the 111 wins. Lushen Ramchander took a Hankook Formula Vee double win and Johan le Roux’s Kawasaki won the Bridgestone Challenge .

ROTAX MAX: MAIDEN WINNERS THRILL KILLARNEY
The WP Rotax Max Karting Regionals delivered a few unexpected results. Jason Coetzee took two wins to one over Sebastian Boyd in DD2. as a delighted Andrew Thomas won his first-ever DD2 Masters race and the day. It was a good weekend for the Visser boys. Charl won Senior Max and Kyle Junior Max as Andre le Riche took his first win in race 2. Joaquin de Oliveira took a trio of Mini Max wins. Keagan Beaumont also won his first Micro Max races and Aiden Beaumont and Kai van Rensburg shared the wins to continue their epic baby Bambino title duel.
